Hawaii Land Use Law Related to Cultural Resources

This course will provide an overview of historical land tenure in Hawai'i, historic legal analysis of the constitutionally protected traditional and customary rights of Native Hawaiians and how it impacts land ownership in Hawai'i today. The course will cover State and federal laws related to the native Hawaiian burials, including how it affects land ownership in Hawai'i and provide a summary of impact to development projects in Hawai'i.
