Course Type: Elective
Credits: 3
Instructor Kimo Stone, Esq Professionalism: Part One
This course uses an interactive approach to examine professional responsibilities generally and certain key duties Hawai'i licensees have under Hawaii Revised Statutes ("HRS") 467 and Hawaii Administrative Rules ("HAR") Chapter 16-99.
In addition, this course we will teach students how to use widely available forms to: 1) educate clients concerning important aspects of their real estate transaction; and 2) remind practitioners of their responsibilities
Finally, we will learn how to organize and draft email messages and other correspondence to confirm important conversations and understandings. In terms of our instruction method, this course is interactive from start to finish. We use Socratic dialog, “real life” scenarios, group discussions and probing conversations to develop professional insights and skills. This course places a strong emphasis upon critical thinking rather than rote learning.
