Mediation, Arbitration & Litigation: The Practical Realities

Course Type: Elective
Credits: 3

Instructor: Stacey T.J. Wong

The process of resolving contractual disputes using three alternatives is discussed as well as the benefits and consequences of each approach. Designed for the veteran real estate licensee, this course uses a number of actual case studies to better understand the approaches and strategies used to resolve disagreements. Mediation is the preferred method with arbitration and finally litigation as the most expensive, used as a last resort. The attendees will come away with a deeper appreciation for resolving disputes as soon as they arise and to seek professional counsel at the outset.
